Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 is the latest in the summer movie blockbuster/tent pole movies of summer 2013. It’s estimated to have cost around $200 million and has brought in $250 million domestic and over $775 million world wide.

If you’ve ever wondered what Iron Man and Batman have in common, Iron man 3 is your answer. Both brood very well. This movie takes place after the events of the Avengers film. You don’t have to see Avengers or Iron Man 1&2 but it helps to understand 3. The Avengers movie results have effected Tony Stark (Iron Man) and he’s having panic attacks because of it.

Ben Kingsly does an excellent job as “The Mandarin” and Guy Pearce is great as scientist/business man with a grudge against Tony Stark.

The action/battle scenes are great (where most of $200 mill was spent, I’m sure) and the film moves along very well.  The major fault of the film is it’s length, at 2 hours and 40 minutes. It’s just long. You don’t feel until the end but you do start feeling tired. An intermission around the 90 minute mark would have been nice. A little recharge?

All in all a fun film, good for those lazy days of summer.
