I Dream In Widescreen

Last Saturday I volunteered at I Dream in Widescreen, a show of the University of Arizona’s senior thesis films.

It is held every year at the Fox Theater and is free. Free is a big deal. The theater was completely full by the time it started.

Most people knew what was going on (because they had come the year before) but there were a few people who were not sure about it.

A Free movie??? How can this be?

By the way free movie = lots of popcorn and drinks being sold. Fox had three concession stands, all with major lines.

The movies were a range of types, from comedy to drama and even an animated rock opera.

I was a PA on the film Brobot that was shown. It was nice to see it as a finished piece.

All in all the night was a lot of fun. Volunteering let me see and meet all kinds of people from the community, including Fox staff and students I probably won’t haven seen if I hadn’t worked the event. There were just too may people to see everyone  if I wasn’t handing out programs or helping direct people.
